Chrisleys face federal charges over allegations of fraud

Tax evasion is a serious crime, but that doesn't mean that a case can't be resolved in your favor. Allegations of fraud could be alleged after someone reports that they believe you've participated in fraudulent activities or as a result of the state or government's own investigations.

If you are charged with fraud, you need to take it seriously. Take, for example, this case in which reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley were able to settle state tax-evasion charges. They agreed to settle the case for $147,944.75, and they were able to receive a refund of over $66,000 for the tax years between 2013 and 2016.

They still face federal charges, but their representatives have stated that the settlement seemed like an exoneration. They still face 12 counts including charges of wire fraud, conspiracy, tax evasion and bank fraud in the federal case.

The federal lawsuit claims that they conspired to defraud banks by giving them false personal financial statements and taking out millions in loans. The prosecution claims that the couple hid money to obstruct IRS collection efforts. Todd Chrisley has come forward to state that neither he nor his wife had done anything wrong.

This case is a perfect example of how a strong defense can be helpful when fighting a fraud case. You may face state and federal charges, and it is important that you take steps to defend your rights. Your attorney will do what they can to negotiate a fair settlement and to defend your actions if you have to head to trial for the case.
