As authorities in Georgia crack down on drug use and distribution, there are more and more raids taking place. In a recent Gwinnett gang raid, two people were arrested after the authorities found drugs and weapons in their possession.

Both state and federal agents were present when they say they seized “an arsenal” of firearms from the individuals in Lawrenceville. The people were alleged to be part of two gangs.

The raids that took place were reportedly a result of a six-month-long investigation into two people, a 27-year-old man and 31-year-old man. Both are accused of gang and drug charges. They are believed to be members of the Sureños gang, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman announced.

When conducting the search in Gwinnett County, the authorities allegedly seized around 10 pounds of methamphetamine along with marijuana, gang paraphernalia and cocaine.

Cases like this one are important to look at if you are accused of federal drug charges or of being involved with a local gang. The reality is that anyone can accuse you of being part of a gang or having items in your possession. The truth may be that you were in the wrong place at the wrong time or that you’re a much smaller player than you’re being made out to be.

Anyone who is facing charges as a result of alleged gang activity, drug involvement or other crimes should be sure to take steps to defend themselves. Federal charges are serious and can lead to years behind bars, so a solid defense is a must for your case.
